Sri's Big Day (My First Time Attending a Malay Wedding!)

First... My desktop died on me..I've to rely on my laptop now. Actually the laptop is newer and much faster than my old desktop but the problem is that most of the programs i need and my documents are in the desktop. Sigh... I better stop procrastinating and repair it soon... Okie, lets move on to the main topic...:(

Sri had been planning for her big day for so long (that i forgot when it started..haha) and yes! Its finally here! She is going to be Mrs Khairul officially! Hmm.. Actually i'm not too sure if Malays take their husband's surname? Someone enlighten me? Haha... I was pretty confused when I first received the invitation card. It says bridegroom and bride will arrive at 1.00pm and 4.30pm, but the wedding was from I think 12pm to 5pm. Errm....so what time do I go for the wedding? I decided to give Sri a call so that I won't be there and not see the wedding couple at all. It turns out that the couple will be at the venue only at 1pm and 430 pm, staying for a short while for each slot. After that they will be going each other's house or something. I'm not too sure... Maybe i should really find out from my Malay friends.

Anyway...Dear Dear and I met up with the rest of the gang at Tampines first and Ian picked us up and drove us there. Just nice! By the time we reached, we heard the cheery Malay music and there! Khairul and Sri sitting at the "throne" (enlighten me again...what is that called?) receiving blessings from friends and relatives. They looked so happy!!

The boy lifts the pot...pour water out from it and washed his hands.

Eh?! That's not for drinking! That's for washing hands! Lucky I didn't our it into my drink! Hahahha!

I told Dear Dear excitedly, "hey! That's for washing hands!" Dear Dear replied,"You mean you dunno? Just now... I thought you were joking..."

2 Little Kitties

Last Thursday night, Dear Dear was smoking at the corridor when he alerted me to go outside. He excitedly pointed out that there was a small, very small kitten hiding behind a water pipe just outside our unit. He was so helpless and trying to hide far away from us. I always thought kittens love humans and more often than not, they will follow us and meow affectionately rather than hide. We tried to approach him (seriously, i really dunno if its a him or her...) but he was so scared that he ran so fast that I got a terrible shock! First, he ran to hide at my neighbour's door, just in between the gate and the door. We tried to move closer to it, it meowed so loudly and ran to hide at a very dangerous ledge (and we live on a very high floor!). I was so worried for kitty!

Just then, my neighbours walked out of the lift and came to see what Dear Dear and I are looking at. They are a very nice middle-age couple and got pretty worried about the little kitty on the ledge. There was nothing very much we could do so we went back into our flats and I messaged my two friends who kept cats to see what I can give Kitty as food. I know I shouldn't feed strays... but he's so small I'm sure he wouldn't know how to get food for himself, and even worse now, he's not even at a coffee-shop etc, where he can find food. He's in this huge concrete jungle! Sigh.... Tried to give him some milk but couldn't find him anywhere when I went to find him again.

The next morning, kitty (which i always affectionately calls him meow meow..) was hiding behind that water pipe again! I was rushing out so i quickly pour some milk in a plastic bowl and left it some distance away from him, fearing that he will freak out again. When I came back after 3 or 4 hours, though he was nowhere to be seen, I saw that the bowl was moved near (found out that Dear Dear shifted the milk nearer to him...) to where he was just now and it was empty! Quite happy that he drank it! At least I know that he wouldn't be starving!! I went back into my house and sat on the couch using my laptop. I got excited when I heard meowing outside so I quickly opened the door to see if Meow Meow had returned. To my amusement, it was the Uncle, my neighbour, meowing, to check if Meow Meow was around. He's so cute! He told me that he tried to lure Meow Meow in (from the uber dangerous ledge...) with some fish and apparently he succeeded when he came out to check. I thought he was so kind (not like the one living upstairs..i shall talk about it later...). Anyway, I bought  can food from the pet shop that day, hopefully if Meow Meow was still around, he could eat it. My other neighbours were very concerned over Meow Meow too..It's nice to know that I have kind neighbours around isn't it!

For the next few days, Meow Meow was always resting at the ledge on the high floors and meowing quite loudly every now and then.  Vincent came over  to my place on Friday night and he told me he saw another one at the void deck. Yes...Meow Meow was meowing loudly trying to "talk" to the grey kitten at the void deck. And you know what... they actually found each other! Dear Dear excitedly alerted me again when he saw TWO kitties, Meow Meow (black) and the grey kitten running around together on our level! They are so adorable! the grey one was even smaller!! The meowing stopped after they found each other...They actually did!! How sweet!

I fed them once a day ( I was happy to see other people placing food for the kittens too! I wasn't the only one!), hoping that they'll be less afraid of humans and when they are stronger I can lead them down. I really hope to keep them and provide for them but I can't. I have Kele who will freak out and get all gan jiong and furthermore, I've got tenants staying with me. Sigh...Dear Dear did tell me that I can't take care of them for long. I know...but I get pretty worried for that 2 小不点...sigh... Grow big and strong quickly... so that you can take care of yourselves...

It was very heart-warming when i realised that Meow Meow was getting less afraid of me.  He actually popped out from behind a pillar to look at what I was doing last night! So cute! Though he still didn't dare to come near me and retreat a little when I go near, I thought that was really an improvement already! He's little head popping out from behind the pillar, you should see how adorable that was! The other grey kitten which i had decided to call him 小不点, was still very wary of me...he still backs off when he see humans. Hopefully he will get use to seeing me too! I watched them lapped up the food and water...adorable...

Ok...now i shall go on to write about the not-so-nice neighbour.  I was at my corridor when i saw an Uncle using a box trying to dunno do what to Meow Meow (that was when 小不点 still wasn't around...) when Meow Meow was on the ledge. He's trying to catch him and but hello, does he have any common sense? He's just scaring Meow Meow and forcing him further and further out to the ledge! and that was the highest floor on our flat! I told Dear Dear and Dear Dear got so angry and went up to "talk" to him. You know, Dear Dear don't talk nicely when he's angry...So actually, Dear Dear scolded him! hahaha! Nice one Dear Dear! Then, that uncle went to get his wife and came back to argue with us but Dear Dear damn fierce one loh...aiya those who knows him will know la.. muahahha...He just scolded the shit out of uncle and auntie...We felt so angry! I'm glad Dear Dear was around! They deserved the scolding! Why try to put a harmless, defenseless little kitten in danger!! sigh...

See? We have all kinds of people...

Another eight year old boy asked me f I had seen the kitten.  he loved it very much and told me his grandmother gave the kitten food too! He told me that the grandmother told him the cat will bring good luck and they will 发财！Hmm.. I dun understand the theory but you can see how a different perspective made you a happier person (im quoting Dear Dear). That not-nice uncle found the presence of a kitten irritating but look at the grandma...:)

Haiz... I know some people dislikes animals. Nobody is forcing you to hug and kiss them but just leave it alone at least?

那天Dear Dear跟我说他的同学问他，他为我做过什么浪漫的事吗？ 他回答他们说他不知道，他只是单纯做一些他觉得我会开心的事。 那个傻瓜，这样就够了...比什么烛光晚餐、贵重的礼物更甜蜜... 况且，他做的浪漫的事多得是！！

我们吵架的时候会吵得很凶，

Irritating Flyers and Stickers!

Scenario 1: Happily walked out from the lift heading to my house and see 3 or 4 flyers squeezed in between the grilles of my gate.

Scenario 2: Happily walked out from the lift heading to my house and see stickers from locksmiths pasted oh my gate.

And these 2 scenarios happened pretty frequently...


Arghh!!
When is this going to stop!
It seemed to be affecting housing estates like sengkang and punggol a lot. Or are the other estates getting it too?

I understand that the businesses need to advertise.
I understand that they need their bread and butter.
But It has been getting on my nerves for the past 1 year that I've been staying here and is becoming very much of a nuisance!
Aren't there other ways to advertise?

The flyers problem is unbearable but still bearable. You know what is unbearable? The stickers!!
That is the real irritating one.
The paste stickers on your door, your gate and they are mostly from house movers and locksmiths.
Don't they know they they are vandalising my door and my gate?
I tried to peel off the stickers but many a times they leave a sticky residue that is very hard to remove and not to mention, unsightly.
One more time they do it I'll call them up! Arghh....

马甲外穿

昨天慧敏跟我在等淑君的时候不知道该做什么，就跑到Bugis Village逛街。我们好久没有到那里去了（小心最近都喜欢在家里当宅女...>_< ) ，开了很多新的店。可是我们到那里的时候也已经接近晚上10点了，大部分的店都关了。但是我们乱转乱窜，竟然看到了一间很可爱的店——里头买的都又可爱又性感的马甲！ 我们当然在叫了几声的“Ah~~so pretty!!” 后进去了。左看右看，每一件都那么漂亮！很快的，性感漂亮的老板娘就来招呼我们这两个迟来的客人，帮我们介绍。 其实，我一直都很想买一件马甲。不想把它当内衣穿，而是想外穿。最近不是因为Jolin很流行这样子吗？先穿一件简单的T-shirt，再把马甲穿上。去夜店是单穿也行！很好看耶！Jolin 新专辑的《花蝴蝶》的MV里头她就有很多这样的造型！ 蔡依林 《花蝴蝶》

所以嘞，慧敏和我都经不起漂亮马甲的诱惑，让老板娘帮我们试穿。哎，我们两个从小就有同样的命运。买衣服的时候会遇到同样的困难——太大件。原本老板娘还告诉我们不用担心，有S号的。后来她帮我们试穿的时候才知道我们为什么会担心马甲太大。但是我们没有放弃哦，老板娘帮我们找了几件剪裁比较小的。终于！！

在试穿马甲的时候，我忽然觉得我是《铁达尼号》的女主角Rose。我记得有一场戏，不知道是Rose的佣人，还是她的妈妈再帮她穿马甲，一直很努力地拉紧，让Rose有woohoo的身材去见她的未婚夫。老板娘也是绑得很紧，然后“Poof！”Wow...我们是有curves的！哈哈哈哈！

慧敏选了一件“很慧敏”的款式——粉红色的，加上蕾丝。我喜欢的是黑色蕾丝的，还有一件很摇滚用皮做的马甲。但是，最后还实现了一件款式较简单，黑色satin的，因为我觉得这样会比较容易搭配，我也会比较常穿。这样，就不会浪费钱了。我么一人买一件，老板娘很好噢！给了折扣！

本来想拍下我没的那件马甲的照片放上来。谁知道....我竟然把它放在淑君的车上，忘了拿回家！！！ >_<

Nancys Prawning Night 230509

It's been some time since Nancys meet up for our updates session and...there we go! Off to Bishan for the prawning (its written as prawn fishing but i insist that it should be prawning....) experience. I dunno why San love it so much but everytime we suggest going for outings she would want to go prawning. And yes...wish came true for our dear San! And we had lots of fun!

San got real good luck that night while Si and me were damn upset that no prawns loved us. Can you imagine....we prawned for 2 hours and we only caught 2 prawns! I caught 1 and Si caught 1! How ridiculous can it get! And San kept lifting up her rod catching one prawn after another. Sigh...no good... So, we extended our prawning session for one more hour, hoping to catch at least a few more little prawnies...

But...老天爷 took pity on was nice to us! What happened was that throughout our prawning session, there was this uncle who was prawning beside us. He looked very professional with baits that he brought himself and he even has his own rod. At the end of his prawning session, he lifted up his basket and asked if we want his prawns. He didn't want the prawns...He only came for the process of prawning but he doesn't want to eat them. We were surprised but were so excited and thanked him for it! Woo hoo! And there were so many many prawns in it!

Oh...We have to thank the gentleman who sat on our left side too! We 3 girls just didnt dare to unhook the prawns from the hook when we caught them...The gentleman who sat beside us (maybe he couldn't tahan seeing us struggling with the prawn.. hahah...) showed his chivalry and took on the task of unhooking all the prawns for us for the whole night until the last hour when Dear Dear finished his gig and decided to join us. Thanks man! Whoever you are! :)

I can simply change the tittle to "Top 5 drinks" and my answers would still be the same. I don't like alcohol... They just taste very bitter to me. Even the ones that others consider to be "sweeter", like Bacardi Breezer...i still find it bitter. I think i just dunno how to appreciate alcohol. I generally prefer hot drinks (except for Coke lah...). I want my coffee to be hot, the soya milk, the fresh milk, the chrysanthemum tea...they just get bonus points when they come at the correct temperature! :)

Bread and potatoes are my staple food! I love them! Don't think the world will continue spinning if there aren't any bread or potatoes...All other kinds of cakes and pastries make the world goes round too(Hence the layout of my blog.. heheh..)! Actually i dun really love ice-cream that much... Dear Dear always says that im eating junk food all the time. I know its unhealthy but i can't help it! I just love fast food and ask me what i want for my meals the picture of a burger just pops into my mind's eye...sobs...Next on the list is Japanese food! Woo....I'm drooling already....oh! And it must come with plenty of wasabi!

Food again... forgive me...they are my indulgence... hahaha...
I love love love Ruffles and it must be the Cheddar Cheese and Sour Cream flavour! Ruffles chips of other flavours are fine but none can fight the Cheddar Cheese and Sour Cream. Its a little expensive for potato chips though but you know...unless im really broke...im willing to pay for such taste buds rewarding treats!
French fries...my achilles heel too. A plate of fries can make one meal for me...oh rosti has the same effect too. When I was still a little child, my mummy will give me just a little bit of rice on my plate whenever she prepare french fries. She knows...I'll simply just ignore all the other dishes and even the rice on my plate when the yellow strips are around...
Then my favourite apple pie and apple strudel (hmm... sometimes i think i need to thank Mac apple pie...it did play its part in my love story...hahaha....).

家里的彩虹

这几个星期都好热好热，太阳也好晒好晒...
经过饭厅是偶然看见书橱上有一片很漂亮的彩虹。

我们试着移动奖牌，

所以...我们错了。
后来发现，原来是在书橱旁边的poster反射的！
那是我用闪闪发亮的纸为Dear Dear制作的poster!
上面是他的名字，
他在台上的时候我就会用那个支持他的！呵呵~~

那个讨厌的热死人的大太阳弄出了一个那么漂亮的彩虹...
好吧！就原谅他！
